Preparing Tomorrow's Workforce Today
Programs

Junior Achievement works with over 9 million students worldwide and thousands locally. Our programs follow students throughout their scholastic careers; they begin in kindergarten and end in twelfth grade. In our hands-on-programs students learn fiscal responsibility, work  preparedness and entrepreneurship.

Our programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Students put these lessons into action and learn the value of contributing to their communities.

JA’s unique approach allows volunteers from the community to deliver our curriculum while sharing their experiences with students. Embodying the heart of JA, our classroom volunteers transform the key concepts of our lessons into a message that inspires and empowers students to believe in themselves, showing them they can make a difference in the world.

"The future of our country depends upon making every individual fully realize the obligation and responsibilities belonging to citizenship. Habits are formed in youth...what we need in this country...now is to teach the growing generation to realize that thrift and economy, coupled with industry, are as necessary now as they were in past generations."

-Theodore Vail President of American Telephone & Telegraph (AT&T)
and co-founder of Junior Achievement, 1918

One exposure to a Junior Achievement program can help make a child's life better. Students participating in JA programs have a greater comprehension of economic and business than their non-participating peers.

Junior Achievement uses an independent third-part evaluator to gauge the impact of its programs. Since 1993, independent evaluators have conducted studies on JA's effectiveness. Findings prove that JA students have developed successful financial management habits. These habits will empower them to explore their entrepreneurial potential and provide them with the tools needed to survive in a global workforce.

Preparing Tomorrow's Workforce Today!

JA programs support the developement of the knowledge and skills that students need to address requirements in the No Child Left Behind Act and other state and national achievement assessments. Further, Junior Achievement program content aligns with the math, language arts and social studies academic stand in all fifty states.
